J.J. Conway & Co. (1861) $2.50; 1862 $5.00, (1861) $10.00 K.1-3. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. This set of three Brass gilt pieces was struck in 1956 from the Georgia Gulch, Colorado, assayer and coiner's original dies. The pieces were struck with Conway's original dies, preserved by the Colorado Historical Society to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Denver Mint, itself directly descended from Colorado private coiner, Clark, Gruber & Company. Only 200 Conway Restrike sets were produced, the $5 using a Liberty head obverse die that was not included in the 1860's coinage. This set is accompanied by its original imprinted envelope describing the Restrikes' role in the Denver Mint 50th anniversary. 3 pieces, plus 1 envelope.
